Ultimate Desserts Magazine!!!

by Candice
Thanks so much to Better Homes and Gardens, and to MixingBowl.com for featuring me in the latest BH&G Special Interest Publication, Ultimate Desserts. You’ll find two of my recipes in there, my Almond Fudge Brownies and my Dulce de Leche Bars. The magazine was released on Tuesday, March 23. Of course, that was the day that some crazy person made a scene in the local Genuardi’s grocery store, jumping up and down and screaming about recipes….

But seriously, the people from Meredith (the parent company of BH&G), have been amazing to work with. They made the interview process fun and easy, and made this whole experience one that will stay with me forever. Thanks also to my friends and readers for supporting me in this blog. I love all of your comments and suggestions. I also encourage any closet bakers out there to take the plunge and start your own blog. Good things happen!

Frangelico Custard

by Candice
This is a basic dessert custard, with a hazelnut twist! I designed it to go with Chocolate Decadence, but you can serve it with many different desserts. This could liven up any pound cake or bread pudding. Change around the liqueur as you wish. I can picture this with Amaretto, Chambord, Gran Marnier, Kirsch…whatever your favorite happens to be. If you don’t want any liqueur, you could just add an extra teaspoon of vanilla.

About Springpad

by Candice
I found a cool new web service called Springpad, and I just had to incorporate it into my blog. Consider it as sort of a “superbookmark” system. Instead of clogging up your existing bookmarks, you can just hit the springit button at the end of each recipe. Not only will springpad save the site for you, but you can easily share it with friends. You can even use it to create shopping lists, and plan your meals using the weekly meal planning application.

Springpad is a free online personal organizer that helps people organize themselves and get things done. Not only can you collect and organize your recipes, you can also manage your daily chores, schedules and share contents from blogs you follow, your favorite brands and your trusted friends. Currently the springpad community includes hundreds of food bloggers and thousands of members sharing more than 50,000 recipes. Many blogs are now adding this feature.

If you give it a try, I think you’ll like it.

Here’s what the recipe will look like when you spring it.
